People always stereotype asians to know kung-fu and talk funny.
People always stereotype blacks to be angry, crazy, gangsters, pimps and etc.
I'm black, calm, choose a non gangster life, not crazy in any ways, not a player or pimp or anything like that. Why do people continue to treat me as if I'm gonna blow up a city or shoot some1 dead???...When I walked near a white person he said sorry for no reason...And why do people stereotype white people and say:They are scared all the time and eat cheese..Whydo people act like all mexicans eat burito's and have a dog named Chico?People also stereotype Native Americans and say they have animal calls and other animal stuff...
Why do people stereotype others when they are no better? It makes no sense...

Satan
In God's eyes, no one is better than the other when it comes to race. All men and women are equal.

It seems people like to Blame Satan, now a days we are worst than Satan. We must blame ourselves. Because if not you, one of your friend, a family member or relative could be busy in this racism.
Look at present Politics and Religions. Our thoughts are limited to our religion. We are chained in our religion. We do not think to love or help others.
Is it what God wanted us to do? Are we here for hatred.
It is easy to blame someone else we better look at our self first.
And at the end Why is there racism? Because we do not use our mind, we let others to decide our fate. We are puppet in the hands of religious authorities and politicians. There is a lack of education. Even educated people are same like un-educated people.
When we are the creation of same God then why Racism?
Can't we love each other?

Television is the main source of stereotyping people, whether direct or indirect. I see it all the time even when watching Disney Channel with my daughter. I am currently taking a Human Growth & Development class, so it has made me notice it a lot more on what she watches on TV.

People fear the unknown, as well as difference--it is wanting to stick to those like you. So, ignorant people--people who would rather act than think, then act--slam what is not familiar. People also like an illusion of control. If you are stereotyping, you are having an illusion of being different and being better, thereby oppressing what is different, and gaining an illusion, and sadly sometimes a reality, of control.

Touchy subject, let's see if I can answer it without offending. If you will look at the other animals of the non-human variety, you will notice the dogs hang out with dogs, cats hang out with cats and every other specie of animal on the planet hangs out with its own specie. That is as natural as it gets in the lower intelligence animal kingdom, but with humans there is a difference.
We are supposed to have intelligence and the ability to make choices. Animals rely purely on instinct. We use our brains and rely much less on instinct. In a nutshell, I believe racism is based on fear. Unfortunately, many religions have taught people to be very judgmental....the old, if your belief system is not like mine, then you are not as good as me. This twisted thinking has resulted in wars, elitism, sexism, racism and a slew of other narrow minded ways of thinking. I believe that one person has a fear of someone else...they express that they don't like to be around that person and attach a negative comment about that person in an attempt to make their friends not like that person either. It spreads the hatred. I hope to see in my lifetime, humans lose these irrational fears and take care of each other. I think it is natural to fear things that are unknown to you, but hatred is taught.

The wrong skin cremes (this is the area for it) is the obvious answer. Maybe it is because there are too many of one kind that were sold, so they won the race to consumer predominance. I don't know, are you taking about 3-D skin cremes for stereoscopic imagery?
