Depending on what your actual aims and goals are - going to a school for its prestigious title no longer carries quite the clout it used too - attending a school that will passionately fulfill the studies and dreams you hope to pursue is much wiser use of your financial resources.

What you really love to study at 18 might change dramatically before you graduate.
That said, I regret not having studied at Oxford. I like their process - lots of reading and discussion with a mentor who then gives you other books to read to increase your knowledge and understanding.

I would love to study at Oxford because of the prestige of the school itself. Also because it would afford me the opportunity to experience a different culture.

I would study at whatever college gave me the opportunity to study what I love. Sure the ivy league schools are great but if you aren't studying what you truly love can you really be happy?

If you cannot find what you like here. perhaps a skilled school like Technical would be the way to go for you.

Both sites made me wish I were younger and could go to college all over again......

PS: to little_garde....... - When you go to one of these Universities you don't have a job, you have a major careeer. There is a big difference.

And these schools still carry major clout!

Why waste 4 years and tons of money to do something I hate? I, too, vote for doing what I really love. Nothing else will truly satisfy me in the long run.

You choose what YOU want to do. Don't end up miserably "comfortable" in a so-so job like a lot of us. I plan on going back to college but have to figure out what for.

Do what you love.
Even if you arent successful/recognised,
at least youve spent your life doing what makes you happy.

If youre successful at doing what you dont love,
would you be happy?
