What might a person's needs change because of age?

I am still young (29) but, feel myself growing older by the day. I believe the need to contribute becomes more important as days go by. Youth is rather self-indulgent, and so the needs are really wants, masked by desire. As you grow older--and hopefully wiser--you see that it is more about giving than getting, and hopefully you have cultivated something within that is worth giving.
