My granddaughter has no father on her birth certificate. It has been testified in Curcuit who the father is. But my daughter wants the next loser to be put on the certificate .I feel she should have her real father on there even though he's not any better

It is up to the parents to request the paternity test. If you feel so stongly about this, perhaps you could contact the biological father and convince him to file for paternity. Of course, he may not want to since this will make him liable for child support.

She won't be able to easily put the "next loser's" name on the birth certificate. The court may require a paternity test, and then when he doesn't match, it might be denied.

good luck.

Only the natural parent or the court can request a paternity test. Even if the wrong father is listed on the birth certificate, the true father can request a test to fix the situation. It's a tough question and there is no real way for a grandparent to contest paternity that i know of. I suggest doing some research online to find your answer.

sorry you have no standing to bring a suit in court to request a paternity test, you can ask the man to take a test, but on the other hand your daughter does not have to allow you access to the child to take DNA either only your daughter has standing to bring this type of action

well for the reason u stated i wish the answer was absolutely not because u have issues. however, if the reason was out of love and gratitude because u want to leave your grandchild a inheritance.....or set up a trust fund the answer is yes. or i pray i am way off base but it happens all the time sick as it sounds...your husband or boyfriend might be biologically involved.

What is it to you?? You didn't have the child and you are not the child. Leave it be and move on with your life and let them move on with theirs.
