It is not a dark practice (unless one makes it that way) but a practice of mother earth and her seasons, The Wiccan calendar begins with spring equinox (the maiden), then summer solstice, fall equinox (the woman), and winter solstice (the crone). This represents the life span of the woman. Many people are known to practice it including doctors, lawyers and businesswomen.
