Just be a rat! Intoday's world it is easier to see and tell what you saw without anyone knowing who you are. Just get a cellphone and start taking pictures of a drug deal going down. Or get a voice recorder and recorder a conversation. I am all about peoples rights but the way some people act, they have given up their rights a long time ago. I drive around with a camera on my dash and record whats going on and send it to the cops. It is the least i can do. I think if more criminals realize that there are more "eye" on the streets, they may do less crime.
I also try to educated kids and some adults on alternative ways of getting money. (most of the time, crime occures as people try to get money) Its not as excuse just some facts.
I also try to educate people on how to increase their welf work and then their elf esteem... It all helps when we all do it together.
Hope this helps
Jerry

Stop it where it starts. stop and report small crimes. Most criminals don't start with robbing a bank, or killing somebody. They start small. We need to as a society, as ordinary people have an "reprobation of the general sentiment" for the criminal element and small crimes as they are commit ed. We can shape mountains if we control them from birth.

well i would suggest, that there is a number of things you can do , the first would be to not commit any yourself , the second would be, to make sure that you educate your family and freinds on staying safe, and making sure they lock up there houses when they go out etc etc. Its just little things, that make it alot harder for opurtunists.
Also , join a neighbourhood watch type program , and just watching around your neighbourhood, If you see somehting strnage, no matter how trivial you think it might be, contact your local Police.

Learn self defense. It is an individual's responsibility to learn how to defend himself.
I learned kung fu 18 years ago. Before that, I was a single woman living alone in midtown Atlanta, Georgia. I used to be followed when I took walks; men would follow me and a few tried to corner me and rape me (fortunately, I could run!) One even tried to mug me at gunpoint. After I learned kung fu, I was never followed again. Because one moves differently when one is studying or has studied a martial art, "predators" tend to stay away. One learns to stop moving like prey.

What we fear, we manifest. Change the whole viewpoint of interaction with others from fear based to love based and there is no room for crime to live and grow.
