We adults have all been through this at one time or another. Let's face it-- groing through the teen years and dealing with all the emotions is painful. You will feel bad for awhile but keep in touch and find things to keep you busy. There really is no other way but to just go through it.

Parting ways is alway painful, but thats how the world is!!Your parents looked after you till you are mature but one day either they take leave or you leave them and its painful!!
Your friend also will be in the same state of mind when he decided to go. But he would have thought about it and ultmately would have decided so. Even otherwise, he has no other alternative than to go.
Understand that everything happening, however painful it is, is for something good tomorrow. Talk to your friend, express your emotions hear his version too and give a solemn promise that you will always be his friend, however far he is. Weep if you both want but see him off with a full heart.
Time will heal the pain in its natutral course but you will always cherish the sweet memories you had with him. Even the deeply loved one has to go either temporarily or permanently one day!!! Be calm and composed, my dear!!!!

Keep in touch with him...call or email when you can. It's tough to let go of someone you care about, whether it's as a friend or something more romantic...but you have no control over this happening, so must accept it and wish him well. Make sure he knows you'll miss him, it'll probably mean a lot to him.
Be strong...and perhaps your families can make arrangements for the two of you to see one another from time to time?

Is he moving to another planet? If this is your best friend, how come you and he didn't make arrangements to stay in touch once he has moved? There are telephones, email, U.S. mail.
Maybe you really weren't best friends after all. Let it go.
