I was going to ask a similar question - why does my broadband connection keep cutting out today? It seems to be every few minutes. It's not stormy where I am (Northern Ireland), but is a bit windy & overcast.

The same thing happened a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure the weather conditions were similar.

Sure, it's possible. Lots of things can cause interference with your connection. However, it's most likely one of three things:

1. Your connection type ( dial-up, DSL, etc)
2. Your ISP
3. Your compuer status (spyware can cause major headaches with a connection)

It's not LIKELY that the storm is causing you trouble, though it is possible. The litmus test will be to see if the same problems crop up in sunshine!

It's certainly possible and even likely since those storms cause electrical interference with the phone lines. How, if you're using cablemodem connection, most cable is shielded from such things most of the way along the line.

I think storms can screw up internet connections if you are connecting wirelessly. My area had a severe t-storm and the next day my laptop couldn't go online, only my pc which was physically connected to the router. All my settings were gone. I had to reconfigure it.

it depends on how what type of line you have coz if its internal cables ie in the house it shouldn't be cutting out at all but if you have a satelite connection it probably will but call the technical support ppl and find out if the problem is with their server or is connection going faulty.
