I dont wantto open emails from unknown sources. but when I touch one it opens without giving me the option to delete it first?

Click the delete button without opening it and it goes away.

Sounds like you're using Outlook. In the Tools > Options menu, go to the Other tab. Press the Preview Pane button. Look for the box that says "Wait __ seconds before marking as read." Put "5" seconds on it. That should give you enough time to highlight it and press delete before it is read.

Tick the box beside it, and click on the delete button at the top.
