1. This war is a defensive war. It was forced upon us by our enemies, who wish to destroy the possibility of life and growth for our nation.

2. It would be unfair and destructive of the general welfare to spread rumors that force the government to speak about matters important or even decisive in the war. This can only help the enemy and harm our nation.

3. The know-it-alls can criticize only because the government is condemned to silence; if it could speak, they would be refuted instantly.

4. No one has the right to complain about limitations on his personal freedom caused by the war.

Do you support these statements?
Bonus: They all have one author -- who was it?

and YES.... although I believe in free speech, I support the statements above. The general public does not have all the facts that the administration is privy to. But we should be united, honor our country and be grateful that we are here.... and not in one of those war-torn countries.

Yes, I do support these statements! The American people have a bad habit. We are so spoiled by our rights, that we will use them to destroy ourselves. Think about it, people. I watched a high speed chase on the news yesterday, that ended in a standoff. The news reporter in the helicopter zoomed in on a sniper positioned for a shot, if necessary, and showed the location of every officer positioned at the scene. Then he said "I guess we're safe that we are not giving any information away, since he's in a truck, it is unlikely that he has a tv in there." Our demand to know hurts us more every day...

Sounds like something bush would believe, don't know if he would be stupid enough to say it in front of a camera, I disagree with all points except point 2, only in the case that the government should be smart enough not to devulge matters of crucial security that might help the enemy reguardless of what rumors are spread...

1.) Defensive? No way. We need to go Offensive, like we have.
And yes they do wish to destroy our lives and nation.

2.) Correct. Rumors like those are self-destructive.

3.) Yep. Double standard.

4.) Yep. It's war.

its interesting how you make the annalogy that some of the administrations points are so similar to the propagenda spread during ww2's natzi germany to its own people.
you must understand that he is speaking of a feeling he has in defending his nation .HIS feelings of persicution are obvious and says he is forced to defend himself while acting as the agressor nation.
This twists and turns the tables blaming the people fighting for freedom against the aggressor as the ones responcible for forcing such action in the first place.
THIS is all double speak and means nothing unless you accept what you are told at face value and do not comprehend what is being said .
this is often the reason many liberals who are generaly thought to have a more exstensive education critisize the cuurent government for its war like posture against people honestly seeking freedom from america and its constent in-volvment in matters of its own national security.
HAD we not supported at one time or another every single terroist in the middle east would we have this problem today .IS Israel just another tool in the region and our ultimite goal to terrorize the middle east by saying we have no control over israel and its nuclear arsinal but support them .SO infact if Israel does use nukes america can stand back and say we had nothing to do with it.
AT one time or another every arab nation has been against israel and to this day has little support accept from nations america does billions of dollars of trade with .
IF you stand against Israel come right out and say it or if you support them do the same .
YOUR attempt to confuse the issue or point out the obvious use of similar statements by bush is less then taking a side and leaves it up to people with liitle knowledge of information to make a choice which is more complicated when dealing with the lives of several million people and how this war effects them.
LEBANON has suffered greatly today and in the past for its actions along with all palestinians forced into poverty and unfair trade practices by ISrael and its army .IT is a welldocumented fact that both sides hate one another and that peace will never occur until all people are treated equally and allowed to prosper .IT is the poor man who losses nothing in the struggle against the rich .FOR a man has nothing to lose if he is not free to go his own way .
FOR to long desperate messures have been used by those oppressed by the Israelies and each time the people of the region suffer greater harm then ISrael .IT is common knowledge that for every israeli killed almost 3 are killed in return .
please choose the side of the underdog and support peace and a long term intervention that promotes fiar trade and peace among all people.

I disagree with all these statements. web search (Gen).Smedly Butler "War is a Racket" for the reasons.

Bonus: these statements are from an actual nazi, Goebbels!
But they could easily be from crypto-fascists like Ann Coulter,
or any Neo-con in the current administration.
