He's not an only child, has an older brother who is more "normal" with the name calling, and the mom and the husband don't have a very stable relationship, although they've been together for over 25 29 years.

And about the "inapropiate" touching, well he sometimes spanks her in a "playful" way, and tends to hug her very effusivley and kiss her in th cheek many times (in front of the fiancee)

I feel that is a little over-the-top. My son doesn't do that, but he is very sweet and loving to me. You didn't say what pet names your fiance calls you. The same ones? None? It does not mean there is anything sick going on. She may be an insecure kind of woman, and she told him she likes that. She may have expressed jealousy towards you, and he is trying to over-compensate for that. Don't just listen to what he calls her, but also take some note on how they interact...touching (appropriately or not?) is really something more important than a term of endearment. That being said, does he have a brother who does the same thing? Is there a father around who also hears this? So many unanswered things in your question that would help to know what the circumstances are, and would help to be able to determine where it is on the "weird" scale.

I am an Asian. Love in Asia is not expressed openly. I am now in California. I hear people using the words honey very frequently. We use honey & darling when we talk the wives or children. Here in Ca, if is widely use even to someone you do not know.

I was in the supermarket and I accidently dropped something at the check out counter. I appologised profusely. The lady at the counter kept telling me, it is ok honey.

I feel this is good culture to show love to your human beings.

To use the words my love and sweetheart to your mother seems a little weird. A simple mum would be more appropriate. Then once in a while, express your love to her by just a simple"I love you Mum"

Well, to me that would be a bit weird but only if the same words are used for the fiancee. However, this could be a sort of a joke that the man has with his mother, so it does not necessarily to be weird. It all depends on the specific situation.
To be sure though I don't think any fiancee would feel OK with that, unless it is a joke she shares.

His affection towards his mom may be a little more than what most might expect, but if that's the way he was brought up then you can't change how he was raised. All you can do is focus on the names he calls you. My wife is the woman I love, but my mom is the love of my life. She is the first woman that cared for me and who will always be mom.

NO IT IS NOT,he has a close relationship with his mother, don't put something into it that is not there, he will be a good person of compassion to you, that is better than having a man that doesn't have respect for his mother or from a broken family, go with the flow

Very weird. Even if you weren't there it would be weird.

I would be very worried about whether this man ever separated emotionally from his mother. I had this problem with my x-wife. She always put her mother and her siblings ahead of me. I always resented it and because she put them above me she didn't care how I felt, not only in that area but in all areas.

I would be very leery about marrying him if that is the case.

No I think that's awesome.
if a man is unable to love his mother, his is unable to love ANY woman, basically!!
Mothers shape men's views of women for life. If he has a positive relationship with her, that's a great sign of a healthy man who respects women.
men typically 'marry their mother' (type) so think about that...

It's nice to know that he loves his mother so much, however, my gut reaction to that one would be that the apron strings haven't been cut yet and probably never will. Momma will always come first.

Yes, that is weird. I would advise you to think twice about marrying him. He sounds like he is a moma's boy and you want to stay as far away from them as you can.
