Coincidence, maybe, counsedence, no. 9-1-1 ( nine-one-one ), not 911 ( nine hundred eleven ), is the emergency telephone number for the North American Numbering Plan (NANP), not the police number. It is one of eight N-1-1 (N-one-one) codes.

Terrorism is a semiotic act -- it's about sending a message. Often that message has no subtlety whatsoever, but sometimes it does. Look at the targets of the 9/11 attacks -- the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the White House. They are hugely famous icons representing U.S. economic, military and political power.

By using conventional aircraft, they turned the U.S. infrastructure against itself.

With all of that, I'm inclined to read the very specific date as a message as well. 9-1-1, numbers which used to represent help and safety, is now synonymous in the U.S. mind with terror.

Ya I think so. Terrorist has no auspicious times. They were able to hijack planes on that day, so they attacked.

It could be a coincidence or there might be a slight change that Osama planned it like that on that date.

I've thought about the same thing. I don't think it is a coincidence, or accidental.
