Recently my friends and i got temporary tattoos (mine is around my belly button). The people who did them said they would come off in 7-10 days. Mine has stayed on for over a month and will NOT come off. I shower daily and have tried to scrub it off. I have tried rubbing alcohol, baby oil and many other over-the-counter products. Since it hasn't came off, my skin is red and irritated around my belly button. The redness is not from trying to scrub it off because i can leave it alone for hours and days and it is still red. Does anyone know what i can do?

What kind of tattoo is it? Most stick on temporary tattoos can be removed with rubbing alcohol and or baby oil.
The redness may be from an allergic reaction to the ink or glue that makes up the tattoo.
If your temporoary tattoo is henna then it wont wash off it will fade away.
If the redness and discomfort is really bothering you go and talk to your doctor about some kind of topical cream to stop the irritation.
Other things I can suggest are dish soap and paint thinnner / turpentine which will be pretty harsh on your skin.. but might do the job.

I think from what Ive read the answerers have given you very sound advice.

Its true if the tattoo is henna (which is a natural dye) that it colours the skin and can last longer on some than others.

Scrubbing it and scraping it will not help. The dye is not on the skin, its in the skin. Do not go putting harsh solvents on it like turpentine etc.

Use sorbelene cream (cheap cream you can buy from a supermarket) or amolin cream (which is baby bottom zinc cream) till the irritation goes away and once the irritation clears then you can use more natural things like straight lemon juice on a cotton wool ball to help bleach the skin without causing you harm.

Being henna it will eventually fade, it doesnt just disappear overnight.

If the irritation does not go away, please go see a doctor.

Good Luck
