The employer does pay half of the social security taxes so if you pay $100 then the employer does too.

I'm not sure about federal taxes, but you can check the IRS site

Social security and medicare tax are split in half (6+%). You pay for your half, your employer pays for the other. You pay for your own federal tax (25%) and state tax, and your employer pays for his own federal tax (25%) and state tax.

Insurance varies as well, the employer usually pays for 70-90% of the insurance premiums (about $500 per person) and the employee pays for the rest.

Depending on the company, employers usually spend on average $50-$200/hour per person, 10K-30K per person/month or $1M-3M/month. That covers supplies, rent, equipment, insurance, benefits, retirement, salary, taxes, etc...

He has to match the social security

people who are self employed have to pay that themselves, so they are double taxed.

Also the employer has to pay for insurance on each person incase they get hurt, it's very expensive.

Also pay a tax incase you get laid off.

It is really expensive for a business to have employees, I really don't know how they stay in business with all the taxes they have to pay.
