The US government will require all U.S. citizens visiting Mexico and Canada to obtain a passport by 2008.

I believe that they want it to be required in 2008.
I am from just south of Detroit and the boarder cities around here are trying to change that. Living on the river many people boat and go from one side to the other even to grab a bite to eat. I think that it will have a very negative affect on out economy around here. If a passport is to be required I think that you should have the rite to one when you are born. I don't think that you should have to pay the $100 to prove that you are a citizen.

Unfortuantely I think they should. We have crossed before into Canada on our way to Alaska and we barely had to even stop the car. they asked where we were going, how long we thought we'd be in Canada and if we had any firearms. We simply said no and they waved us on!
