how to scan a bill and edit it?

I recently applied for a credit card and I was sent a letter to send in a copy of my utitity bill as proof of my address. I asked could I send in a copy of my driving licences or a copy of bank statement and copy of credit card bills , but they said no . I dont have a utility bill in my name, its in my moms name. So if they want a utility bill in my name I will send them one alright. First I need some advice on scanning my moms bill and putting my first name on it where her first name is. I tried to scan and edit it many times but it wont let me edit it and the letters come out different from what the bill shows. After I scan it , how do I save the project as ? And whats the next step?

LOL scan it, but first tear out a letter or something with your name on it and paste that to the paper LOL hang on im looking for your answer ill get back to ya, o yeah.... make a copy of it and send it to word document by using the open with function, change it to word on the file properties or copy and paste all the info on it to word then change it and print and rescan, does that make sense? maybe send me an IM to help ya, maybe that program in there might help im sure u can download a free trial from microsoft

Nah, not fraud.

Most scanners include OCR software (Optical Character Recognition) that allow you to create an editable document). Otherwise, you can use any graphics program like The Gimp ( http://www.gimp.org ) to modify the scanned image, changing the lettering to what you need it to say.

What a stupid credit card company! You might consider shopping elsewhere. Credit Unions are easy to join these days, have less-rigid requirements, and better interest rates and plans overall.

I presume your Mom's last name is same as yours?

Just copy the bill with a paper covering the first name...

Or scan and ERASE the first name...

Many utility bills only have the last name, and that should be good enough for them!

So you want to commit Fraud then?, forget the Credit card, downward spiral of dept..
Looking at your other questions seems your already there tut tut, they will not except a print out btw.....original copys only !

you can't do that, it's a criminal act, one's the bank find out they will charge you.
