Take the letter to the Post Office and tell them it is to go Air Mail to the States and they will weigh it and give you the stamp or stamps for the correct amount. Alternatively you can look up how much it costs on the Royal Mail website. You will have to know what weight it is though. The Post Office will also give you an Airmail sticker to put on the letter.

Put sufficient postage stamps for air or surface mail and drop it into a post-box. The letter should first be placed into an envelope. Or you could email it.

attach it to the wings of a pigeon and tell whoever your sending it to, to watch the sky and shoot it down when it comes over. Failing that you could take it to the post office.
