Change to cable modem. I think there is a setting where you can turn that off, but I cant remember how to get to it. Check your modem program for tools or options and I would imagine it would be there if possible.

It' easy.. click on start menu> connect to > Choose your connection and go to it's properties (right click and properties) > General > Confrigue > Untick Enable Modem Speake and click ok... that's it done no more Dial up noise.

take modem properties in device manager > modem > reduce speaker volume to nil

the only way to do that is to turn the speakers off.

you have to go to control panels then phone and modem icon, select the modem you have and put mute for the speakrs
