The situation in Lebanon is a terrible one. After having some stability for the past two decades, the shelling by the Israelis has made life very dangerous. I would agree that Israel overreacted over two kidnapped soldiers.
But I also find it rather sad that Hezbollah is able to commit terrorist acts without hardly a word of condemnation by the Muslim word. This is a terrorist organization which has the number one objective to eliminate Israel. Everytime Hezbollah or other terrorist group attacks, the Muslim world answers, "how unfortunate but what can you do" - but any time Israel acts, its "The repressive and violent actions of Israel must be stopped".
Israel is a reality - both sides must learn live together - There must be a solution other then "Israel must be destroyed"

Over 60% of Lebanese are Muslims (the rest are Christians), with most Muslims congregated around Beirut. When launching air raids on predominantly Muslim countries, you can't expect many non-Muslims to die, can you? Furthermore, you have to realize that Israel's military is among the most advanced in the world; in recent mock wars Israeli forces mopped the floor with US divisions. Israel has an experienced, advanced, and diligent officer corps. Israel almost never misses its intended target, even more so than the United States.
Therefore, these Lebanese are dying for a reason. That reason is that they are harbouring Hizbollah combatants. Hizbollah does not hesitate to use human shields, and Israel, after dropping leaflets warning Lebanese to stay away from Hizbollah, does not hesitate in killing terrorist sympathizers. The United States would do the same thing; you just probably wouldn't hear about it. And if you did, it would be justified in your mind.

You must be awfully young or seriously lacking education if you ask a question like this.
What do you not understand about what is going on over there?
It is not about religion but about Hezbollah killing innocent Israelis firing rockets and hiding amongst the civilian population in Lebanon hoping that if Israel tries to hit them back it will kill innocent local people. It is therefore Hezbollah that is responsible for the deaths.

The US has INTENTIONALLY sat back to allow Israel enough time to combat Hezbollah in Lebanon. It will not intervene to restrain Israel because it believes that Israel has the right to defend itself from cross border attacks: rocket fire, kidnap of IDF personnel.
It is a known fact that Hezbollah wages war using civilian as 'shields', storing arms in mosques, homes, ambulance trucks, etc - they don't care about the lives and hardships of the civilian population. Never have.
If Israel were to wage war without any principle, without any regard for human life... do you think that the casualty rate so far is 300? Which army in the world informs residents in advance to flee their homes, the area, before an impending attack?

You, in part, hit the nail on the head. The world, like America and Israel, is reacting to extreme groups; not peacful moderates would want to enjoy life and raise families, etc. They try to target people who want to express their views through the use of violence. Israel hasn't gone to the United Arab Emirates and lined up Muslims and shot them, have they? No, they are invading the camps and trying to destroy the weapons of those extreme men of Hizbollah who want to express their views by firing rockets into cities and killing civilians. Think for a moment about this, please...

Muslims are butchering each other in Irak. They are butchering their compatriots (including women of course) in Afghanistan. And with the help of Syria and Iran they are attempting to erase Israel from the map. A couple of terrorists die. You are not going to make me cry.

Bombs and rockets do not discriminate...they kill all, i.e. humans, whether black, white, christian, Muslims etc. etc. This 'war' is a no win situation...and as I've said before; it is the 'community' and taxpayers that foot the bill, the community pay with their lives, the taxpayers pay to rebuild, so it can all happen again...and again...for what.
