Yes. If they asked you on your application if you had ever been convicted of any crimes, or if it states anywhere on any paperwork that you have signed that indicates if you have ever been convicted of any crime it is grounds for termination (usually on the form they have you sign authorizing a background check it is in the fine print) and you put "no" or do not disclose the information before it is discovered and the results come back with any criminal history, you can be legally terminated for falsify.

Most employers check misdemeanors going back 7 years and felonies for 10, but depending on the the type of job (like banking or insurance) you have been hired for, they could have done a complete history.

Depends on whether or not you lied on your application. Some applications only ask if you have been convicted of a felony, others want to know if you have ever been arrested for felony or a misdemeanor. You can be fired for lying about it esp if your state is a "fire at will" state. Most places can fire you within your training period (which is usually 2 weeks or 30 days) for anything.

If you told them the absolute truth in writing on your application and they hired you regardless, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. But if you lied.........get ready to go!

of course it can, if you signed a form to give them permission to check your history and they told you the rules and regulations then of course. i dont know why they just didnt wait for it to come back to hire you.
