Yes. It's mostly teenagers that ruin the experience for me. They have no regard for anyone but themselves, though I guess that is just part of being a teenager these days.
All I ask is that you stop kicking the back of my seat and stop talking on your cell phone during the movie!

Yes, I do. The kids are not the only ones noisy. It is amazing how many adults cannot watch a movie without chatting through the entire movie. Plus the last time my spouse and I went to the movies, someone took their shoes off and stunk up the entire theater. What happen to the ushers with the flashlight telling people to be quiet and to keep their feet off the seat in front of them????

I only do because of the crowds. I hate crowds of annoying people.
I can stand the prices because well, I haven't had to pay my way since I was 14. It's nice when guys want to take you out. I also don't have to worry about noisy kids because I don't watch juvenile stuff.

while I understand your the reasons you have written for not going to the theater there are some movies that are really meant to be viewed in the theater format and not on TV, no matter how great your TV is. I have gone and seen Superman, Pirates and X-Men all in the theater because these movies lend to a greater experience in the theater I am waiting for other movies like R.V. to come on DVD because it doesn't seem to need the full theater experience

All of the above. Time is also a major factor. (I work 60 - 80 hours a week...) I don't have much free time, and I don't want ot spend what little I do have crunched in an undersized seat, bumping elbows with complete strangers. The food is way overpriced. You almost have to take out a small loan, just to get a large popcorn and couple of sodas.... Even worse, they now show commercials at the theaters! They should pay me to go.....

I go to matinees. It's less crowded and cheaper. The last movie I saw in the theaters was 'Take the Lead' There were only 3 people there!

Actually I go to the theater only be cause of the crowds, children and high prices. I just don't go that often and primarily on first night showings. You need to go to a midnight premiere to really have fun. Give it a try.

I avoid going to theater if the movies is not the number one in my "have-to-see" list and I decided to watch it in the most cheapest place I could get and it turns out it's still too expensive and crowded...

The movies I would choose wouldn't have kids there, crowds don't bother me, but the prices keep me away. It's just gotten too stupidly expensive.

Like, there are movies for which I brave the hordes of shoppers and all the irritating children and they are not that I watched supermanreturns, and PoCaribean in theater.
Usually movies with special effects are no good on comp and TV. (No, I didn't watch Kingkong in hall) , and no I don't have a huge screen home theater, but even then, the effort isworth it if you go with friends.
I even managed to brave kill-bill1 with my buddies, with all its animation.
