1. The upper hand holding the bat has to have a tighter grip and the lower hand has to be a loose grip.
2. Shoulder and the eye level - the eye and the shoulder should be parallel during the stance
3. A broad base of support so that your Line of gravity falls within and have a good balance while connecting the ball
4. The distance between the bat and the pad should be minimal during a defensive stroke
5. Do not fish on the off side (not to play a ball too far from you)
6. Always play with a straight bat.
7. Your chin should face the ball
8. Have a good follow through

unlike shelock holmes said every body has got his own tech if u c dravid n try to play like him that does not work he was brought up in different conditions all togther i think ur unique what every cricketer has to hav is determination asdaptability thirst 4 runs lots of concentration patience attitude u try to learn these things from dravid observe these things these qualities will be same 4 every 1 on earth

Every one can say many things like concentration, consistancy and hard work etc.,
But the main thing you should do is that you should watch the batsman whoplays like your aggression but not the style.
For example, if you play like Rahul Dravid then watch how he will be facing the deliveries. See the technique he adopts to gace a particular delivery and you can kearn many things with in very few days even.
I am telling you that "Visual experience is more worth than reading experience."

i would give the detail in short words
1. hand-eye coordination is must
2. play as straight as possible
3. should have good footwork
4. should have quality to play according to the situations
e.g(in odi's play quick & sensibely & in tests play defensively
and settle at crease)
5.should have good communication with the other batsmen
