You can't. The IRS will get it's money. They *may* be willing to settle for less than the amount you owe, if it's defermined you made an honest mistake and didn't just not file or participate in fraud. You're more than likely just going to have to suck it up, start a payment plan and pay it all off with penalties and interest.

there are attorneys and accountants who specialize in doing this with the IRS I have heard that sometimes they can negotiate the taxes down to about 10 percent depending on your present income and assets

Just tell them you owe them and start making payment against what you owe, they will work with you. They are pretty good about it as long as you don't try to stiff them.
