Have any of you heard of any sudstantiated trade rumors involving the Red Sox?
They could use a little more starting pitching as well as a backup firstbaseman (I have heard Ryan Klesko as a possibility, but what about Craig Wilson from the Pirates?)
Any other rumors out there involving the Red Sox?

I agree that Youk has been playing well, but he needs a break every now and then. He has hit the proverbial wall (which is to be expected as this is his first full year in the bigs). With JT gone, Wil Mo's inability to handle 1st in the minors, and Hee Sop Choi struggling, I think they need someone to compliment Kevin at first.

I was going to say Shea Hillenbrad, but he just went to the Giants. I see the Sox standing pat. THey might pick up a reliever on the waiver wire.

I agree that a firstbaseman would be nice, but with Cora playing so well in a back up role, you can move Loretta to first once in a while or put Ortiz there (like last night). You only need it for 2 - 4 games the rest of the way.....I do not think they will make that move.
I just heard this morning (WEEI) that David Wells is progressing well and should be ready to help the club out in early August. With Snyder having a good game (need to stretch him out) last night, I think they may stand pat on a starter as well.
The bullpen would be nice to get help with. I have not heard anything definite with the bullpen, but they would not be looking for too much.....just a guy that could give you 2 or 3 stop-gap innings every 2 or 3 days. The back of the bullpen has been great lately and not overly taxed.
My guess is they will make a move, but they really don't need too much. I would like to see a reliever, but they will unfortunately go after a starter. I am begging them not to give up any young pitching talent, but trading Murphy and a lower minor leaguer for a Westbrook (Cleaveland) type pitcher wouldn't be too bad.

Yeah, you're right. The Sox needs some starting pitching. But there is not much for starting pitchers out there. I am hoping David Wells get well quickly and get back on the mound. The guy has still got some good stuff.
If the Red Sox do not do anything much, I think we will still be fine. It won't be their fault if they don't do anything. Like I said, there is not much in the market now.

i became into born in long island and function been a pink Sox fan for 40 years(10-11-sixty seven) My coronary heart's been broken in the previous yet this would possibly no longer be the 365 days the place it happens back. Our pitching and hitting are too solid for many communities. get waiting to appreciate some solid baseball!!!

Its unlikly that the Sox would trade for other infielder with Youkilis playing so well at first, We do need a fifth starter and that could come at the expense of some minor leaguers.

There are rumors about Trot Nixon being traded, with him being a free agent at the end of the season. He hasn't been playing well, so this may be why Trot may be traded.
