I am concerned with the anti depression drug. I still have up and down periods. I was on zanax for years and it helped me. Todays MD seem afraid to prescribed zanax they prefer the more expensive medicine. I am 80 but still active. BP is good but my head fills as if it is blown up with air. Sometimes I think a psychiatrist would be helpful to me. Your response appreciated and thanks.

That is who you should be going to begin with their specialty is psychology. Medications especially anti depressants can take weeks even months before working not to mention you may have to try several before the one that works with your needs. See a psychiatrist they may help you figure out your cause rather than just treat symptoms. You will always have the problem if you just pop a pill finding a trigger may help you more.
