Avoid the people you hate!
Just act nice and pretend to be civil around them. I hate many of my co-workers, one in particular that I have to spend a lot of time with. I just pretend we get along and ignore her when I've had enough.

Hate is a pretty strong word. You sound intelligent for asking this question. I mean that and the reason is - when we truly can't stand someone and they speak, it takes a lot to hold back and not speak your mind and/or punch them. I know EXACTLY what you are going through. The only thing you can do is somehow distance yourself from them. The problem that I see is that when we are angry at someone, that person is going on their normal lives happy and we are the ones holding that awful feeling inside. That isn't easy either. How about you telling us why you can't stand this person and THEN let us help you through it. I've been in this situation in my life on plenty of occasions - co-workers, in-laws, etc. -- 48 years old. I've learned a lot over the years. We could help you - there are some pretty witty people on this sight who could give you some ideas (where you can just smile at that person and walk away feeling satisfied just by using a few "words"). You'd be surprised. Get more specific.

Avoid the people you hate. Saying nothing at all to them won't hurt them.

It's best if you hate them not to have too much contact with them. I try to avoid people I cannot stand bcuz I don't feel like being phony. I think always remembering to always remain true to yourself in a classy way is a way to handle it so you wont hurt their feelings.

By not spending time thinking about them. To waste time thinking about those you hate gives them power over you. Why would you spend another two seconds thinking about someone you hate? Get past it and go on with your life. Spend your time with people you like.

Hate is more destructive to you than it is to the object of your hate. Hate is not productive, it takes away your energy. I suggest you write down all the reasons you hate someone, read it over, then burn it and allow the hate to dissipate with the flames.
