It seems to me there is no answer to that. If the rest of the world can't stop Hezbollah, why should the Lebanese President be expected to do so? For the leadership of Lebanon to tackle such a group is a sure suicide, in my opinion. In this respect, I think Israel has a greater chance of controlling/eliminating them than any other right now. Unfortunately, so many good people and a beautiful country are being destroyed in the process. Makes me wonder how people become filled with such hatred that they don't care who or what is harmed along the way.

Why answer, everyone knows the reason. They are simply to weak. There army is all of 60K in size, poorly trained, and even more poorly led. They are a very small, fledgling country it is not really their fault. Which is why Israel has done everything in their power to limit damage to non-Hezbollah targets. Israel has no issue with Lebanon, in fact they are quite friendly considering the nature of the region.

Hezbollah is like its own government. I watched CNN last night and they reported *this might not be accurate because its the news* but, they reported that Hezballah even has its own social services and all that.
they are very strong too, and the army they have will put up a good fight.

Hezbollah, is the defacto government of Lebanon, it is not that they don't want to control Hezbollah, it is that they cannot.

thats because they are using hezbollah to further thier sinister intentions, whatever they might be. these nations are not all friendly with Israel and whatever ways they can use to undercut Israel, you can be sure they will exploit it
and of course once the skeletons have been hauled out of the closet, they would deny all linkage to it
but who will trust them??? they can deny all they want till the cows come home
