Hum, ever think the reason why he holds you down is because you let him. "The Man" only hold you down because that's how you feel. If you don't care what he thinks and you start thinking for yourself in time there would be no need for "The Man" only yourself.

Maybe the questions is why are you concerned about the man holding you down? or
Why would you let the man hold you down?
Do what you do and don't concern yourself with him...What God has for you, is for you and no one can interfere with that or keep you from obtaining your goals

Sounds to me like you want to be held down. I guess that gives you an excuse for not applying yourself. You sound awfully lazy to me. Stay down and whine or get up and do something about it. Ask Jesus and He will be the first to help you.
