There is a battery on the motherboard that powers the clock. However, if the battery dies, then, once the computer is shut off, the computer's time will be reset.

This happens with the CMOS battery which is located on the Motherboard and it looks like a watch battery. The settings which you make to the PC are stored in CMOS. Once if the CMOS battery is removed and place it back the system time varies.

dude there is a small battery in the compouter, if u open ur cpu just by the side of ur fan u will see a small battery which does that work this is the reason when after some tiime u will se that system time will change automatically when battery runs low....

computer hard ware having a seperate clock (with battery) ! ,
so it's getting power from that battery even you switched off or on
so clock will keep runing

dares a clock not inside your OS, but in da hardware inside your computer. In otha words, dare is a clock somware in, probably, mothabord wit a battery. Somtimes, somppl need 2 get a nu battery becuz it's ded n da clock wil jus freeze dare.
