It was well done and gave Superman a very humane character. Since it was a box-office hit,we can expect a part 2. Although many hate the movie, we can't deny that Brandon Routh is destined for stardom. He is very handsome.

One critic wrote "This movie will be what you bring to the theater"...If you are expecting Superman or Superman II, you will be disappointed. I could've done without Lex Luthor...unless he was more like the Lex from Smallville - But as far as Superman is concerned, I have never seen a more three-dimensional depiction of the character on the big screen. This movie focused on his alien legacy, in particular his feelings of loneliness, alienation, and his uneasiness with being a Messianic figure to the world. I love independent/dramatic films because they make you think. This film asked the question "How would you feel, if the world looked upon you as more than just an intelligent life form ?" - a living, breathing, being who simply longed for companionship, to the point where he was willing to travel two and half years to find his planet of origin, just to find someone to whom he could relate.

I did not like this movie. It stole scenes from Spiderman 2 for starters..... then the whole Superstalker........... Poor, Creepy, Superman uses his x-ray vision to spy on the woman he loves.... Poor poor Superman needs to go to the emergency room?!? Superman..... in the hospital? Really??
Stop trying to make this guy seem weak just so the female audience can try to connect. He's Superman. Only one thing weakens him and once he is away from that he's Superman again.
I hope I don't see a SuperSon: Home Alone 5 moive next.......
I want to see a Smallville movie.

I am tired of seeing superman so afraid. He is supposed to be SUPERMAN and yet he can't even ask a girl for a date. I am thinkin the super underwear is there to try and keep his super package from rising all the time. Makes you think what happened in the Hospital. Hmmm.

I thought it was just an OK movie.If I had a choice to see Superman(again)or Pirates 2(again)I would defiantly go see Pirates 2.

Honest truth... I fell asleep during the movie.
And I agree with the previous answer, Smallville is better.

I saw it last night, I liked it. Kevin Spacey is an excellent Lex Luther.
