I had mine when I was 22. I spent a lot of time researching it before I did so.

The surgery took about 15 min. They used local pain killers. The nurse talked to me the whole time, so I was distracted.

It was painless, but somewhat uncomfortable for a few days. I was back to work (desk job) the next day.

I got mine in the hot summer, so it itched for about a week or two. I suffered no swelling. I did have a little bruising.

I had it done at a non-profit place, in Dallas TX. Either they changed thier name, or relocated. I can't find it, on the net.

My sex drive skyrocketed. I will address this issue next:

Most have an increased sex drive because they don’t have to worry about pregnancy. This is more true if you are like me. I never wanted children ever, so the vas was the greatest thing I had ever done in my whole life.

Certain percentages, of men, are really hung up on having more children. They just never get over the fact that they can’t have children any more. They report problems with their sex drive.

Yes, about a year ago - the procedure was mildly uncomfortable but bearable - over the following week ache got steadily stronger but again not unbearable.
Everything works as normal now.

PS Funny thing happened - a few days before the op I got a letter asking me to bring along a sperm sample so they could compare the before and after sperm count. I duly obliged but when I proudly presented it to the doc he looked surpised and asked me why I'd brought it - very confusing. Later that evening I got a phone call from a friend asking me how it had gone - he eventually confessed that it was he who had sent the letter!!

My first husband did, and it reduced his frequency, and I think, enjoyment. My sister's husband did, and she, too, was complaining about his loss of frequency.

It allows for an increase in spontaneity, but in this day and age, unless you are in a committed, clean relationship, you need to use a condom anyway to protect yourself.

I would say save the money, and invest in condoms.
