Better for what? Making toast?
Of course I would take an Acer P4 over a Fujitsu 486 anyday.
Then again, I would take a Fujitsu P4 over the Acer 486.
In other words, we need a lot more info, like what models of these brands, and what it is you intend the primary function to be.
Peter has the right idea in terms of researching the issue.
.
PS - Alexandra....if you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Snide comments that don't help the participants answer their question within their parameters are as useless as the mac they were written on.

Acer without a doubt. acer has the best prices and performance of any laptop manufacturer anywhere.
Compare these two:
Acer, with its best gpu, the x1600.

And the next cheapest computer with an x1600, but not as good hdd or ram.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834220020
Or look at the apples with x1600's

People seriously need to shut up and do some simple 3rd grade math before they post info on such an expensive purchase.
