Laplace and Fourier transformations are very needed for the analysis of the electronic&communication systems. It is very difficult to analyse the systems in time domain. These transformations are entirely on frequency. So,analysing the systems in frequency domain is somewhat easier than time domain. That's why we use these transformations.

Transforms make the computation easier and our analysis better. For example, Fourier transform of a signal helps in spectrum analysis, detect the frequency of the noise components and band limit the signal to eliminate noise.Transforms are useful for better analysis

I wish i knew but forgot it all....anyways laplace's equation has a great contribution in electrostatics with the help of this u can find the potential at a given position.Fourier analysis has it's contribution in electronics....U can convert any wave to a sinusoidal wave by it's application and believe me u can create an a.c. with it from a d.c. and u can view it too by a CRT.

Fourier transformation gives the amplitute of the various frequencies in a signal. F(jw) gives amplitude of frequency jw. (i.e. j omega).
Here jw is purely complex frequency.

When the frequency is expressed as a general complex number, it is Laplace transform. F(s) where s = o- + jw (i.e. sigma + j omega).
