Right-click on My Computer and select properties.

It should provide the processor information there.

Also try going to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information and it's on the system summary tab. This may be a little greek to read though.

It it's not clear enough download a program called Sandra by Sisoftware.

It has an option to check CPU information. Just select the Lite version.

And yes there are Dual Core computers out in the world. AMD's been making the processors for mainstream since mid 2005 and Intel has been shipping processors for them since around the same time (Pentium D is a dual-core processor). Multi-core processors have been around since 2000 but not for mainstream until fairly recently. :)

(Can't wait to get my dual-core laptop, this wednesday! woot!)

Some people talk with their brain in neutral. AMD have had dual core processors out for ages now. Now to find out what you have, go to My Computer, right click on it and choose Properties, on the general tab will have your computer details and type of processor. Good luck!

lol,
download CPU-Z
and if it shows a second one then you have a dual core
but remember, some CPUs have a set of areas, instead of saying CPU 1 or CPU 2
It might say CPU, Logical
that doesn't mean u have a second one
It means ur CPU has 2 parts
I dunno what Birdman is talking about
AMD has had their dual cores out for about 1 to 2 years now
Intel has had theirs out about the same amount of time if not more
