People can make the decision to not allow smoking in their car, their home or their business Why does the govt. have to get involved. I can't stand people who want to ban things they don't like. Lobbying for smoking bans everywhere is the sole reason for anti smoking groups existence. They don't serve any other useful purpose and it is the only way they get a paycheck. That's why you never hear an anti smoking group say they want to make smoking illegal. They are pathetic moochers who get a salary without having to do anything worthwhile.

A ban like it somewhat is determined by skill of the business enterprise. The police have not something to do with it, because that is thoroughly a civil project. Smoke all you favor in a business enterprise motor vehicle, you'll by no skill get a cost ticket for it. yet when it smells like an ashtray once you turn it in, they can make you pay to get the scent out, or in basic terms hearth you. *extra* Sorry, i did not recognize this question replaced into about the united kingdom. i replaced into assuming it replaced into about some US business enterprise that banned smoking of their autos.

That's what politicians do chip away at your civil rights. Blood alcohol levels ( for operating a car) have been dropping continuously in the USA, from .015 to .012 to .010 now .008 next on the books is .005. It will not stop until 51% of the population is locked up fordriving while intoxicated.

Much like Dublin, bastards!
At least you guys have the weather when you have to go outside to smoke! Try it here in December, 0 degrees, howling wind and pelting rain! And then you see the 80 year old men and women doing the same thing, its sad. (mind you they prob are only 55, the smoking has just taken its toll on their looks!!)

stupid government. People will eventually STOP smoking all together.. and guess what- all those taxes that are on cigarettes will be dwindled to almost nothing and SOMEONE will have to pay for it. And it will be the taxpayers. Then the taxpayers will complain that the taxes have gone up..
its a never-ending cycle.

YES! And I'm a smoker, but not in my car.

I've known of some "head ons" with one lighting a cig. or dropping one. I've had some close calls, when I was younger.

My car has no lighter no ash tray. "Don't even think about it"

Pull off the damn highway if you need it that bad. I do.

Police it? Pull you over and write you a ticket if they see you smoking in your car, that is how. But I agree it is going too far.
