The commitment to eliminate Muslum Terrorist and support people in need Is about as good as it gets. It is not pretty, but, someone has to do it. Which countries gives more aid to needy countries ? These three give most of the aid the world needs. By aid I mean food and clothing and medical supplies. I am sure there are countries that give more dollars in military aid for terrorist countries.

You must look at issues with both eyes open.

America is not involved in the Lebanon excursion at this point, and unless Syria and/or Iran start to get froggy, we won't be.

Israel is a sovereign nation and has a right to defend itself, just like Germany, Spain, or any other country out there that is attacked. France, historically, allows itself to be conquered and liberated by someone else, usually America.

The current problem in the world is that Israel and America -- and the rest of the world, really -- has a common enemy just like we did in the 30s and 40s with the Nazis: Radical Islam.

If you take the time to read the Koran, as I have, you will find that Mohammad, aside from making glaring contradictions of his own words, says point blank that in order for the dream of a muslim utopia to be realised, the infidel must be destroyed. Who is the infidel? The Non Muslim. It's in the Koran; I've read it.

I've known "peaceful" muslims who will tell you all day that their religion is a religion of peace. Maybe for them it is, because something in their heart says that hatred is a bad thing, killing people is a bad thing, and for them, it really is just a nice set of rules to live by. On the other hand, maybe what they mean is, Islam is a peaceful religion -- IF you're Islamic. Interetingly enough, these "peaceful" muslims still hold fast to the notion that Israel does not have a right to exist.

There's 23 Arab nations surrounding Israel, all of them -- with the exception of Lebanon -- about six times bigger than Israel, with at least five times the population of Israel, but here, this little strip of land that holds the smallest populace of people on earth, who at its most narrow point of land is only seven miles across, is not allowed to exist. Why? Because the Palestinians don't have a country? I'm sorry. History tells us that the "Palestinian people are Jordanians and Egyptians who, after attacking Israel in '48, were not allowed back into their own countries and so settled in Gaza and the West Bank, which used to be territories of Jordan and Egypt, but lost to Israel in a ground war.

And America is considered the Great Satan because women walk around in shorts and tee shirts and men don't regularly beat their wives into submission?

Now I don't know about you, but I don't want to convert to Islam just to be safe from terrorists, and I don't want to stop being an American to appease a group of people who are trying to force their way of thinking on the rest of the world. The policy of Appeasement doesn't work; historically it has never worked. Just ask post war Europe.

As far as Iraq, Bush had the right idea. Historically, giving a blank check to a developing nation to create an infrastructure and build a country doesn't work. We have seen it time and time and time again. The most recent example is Arafat and the Palestinian Authority.

America and the other G8 countries -- AND ISRAEL -- gave over a billion dollars in aid to Arafat in 1993 alone -- not even mentioning the subsequent years of aid that the PA received. What did Arafat do? Did he build roads? schools? industry? did he make a way for his people in any way? No. He built an arsenal. He funded Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah and others. History does not call Arafat the Father of Modern Day Terrorism for nothing.

Bush decided RIGHTLY to not give Iraq a big fat deposit in the bank; he chose instead to have a viable infrastructure built by outside companies with the knowledge and experience to get the job done right the first time. This creates jobs for people, which provides an income, which provides a comfortable lifestyle, which provides hope, which means you are a lot less likely to strap on a suicide vest. The unfortunate thing is that there are a handful of people -- and comparitively speaking, it IS just a handful of people -- who are more interested in pushing their own agenda instead of helping their people.

It's unfornuate that America seems to always have to go it alone. Let that be a testimony to you, not that other countries are peace loving countries who want everyone to get along, but that those other countries just don't care aout anybody else. They've got their own thing going and they don't want to be interrupted by such trivialities as genocide.

Hope this helps.

im convinced now more than ever that american forced need to get the hell outta the middle east ASAP and start minding their own business! Keep our money, find different alternatives for fuel (tho venezuela provides most of the countries oil) and stop giving EVERYONE money. We would be a much more stable country.

I think bush wants the world to think the america is a leader, and we are, but being a bully about it is going too far. Before you know it we will be fighting either n korea, or lebanon, or saudi...

lets get the hell outta there befroe war is declared on US.
