Does anyone know how large organisations lobby parliament in the UK? Is there an standard route to doing this.

Please give a personal example of when an organisation you worked for or worked for had a successful campaign through lobbying.

I'm a student of politics so I havent actually got an personal exepriences. However, big companies employ specialist known as lobbyists to put forward their arguments and idea to the members of Parliament.

I think this could come in any form...gifts or deals with MP's are probably the most common way, although some companies are often asked to give evidence and specialist knowledge on certain policy areas of the government during committee stages, so they could make their point directly to the powers that be.
