How did the foxes get to your yard? If they wandered in from nearby woods, then they should be encouraged to wander back. One way to do that is to not feed them. Foxes can take a hint.

If there are no natural fox habitats nearby, and the foxes are not someone's pets, then they might need help getting home. There are wildlife rescue organizations in many cities. They have the equipment (live traps, soundtrack to "Born Free", etc.) and the know how to safely catch the foxes and transport them somewhere they are more likey to be able to feed themselves.

Don't feed them!!!!
You may like the foxes in your yard, but others won't. By making them used to humans handing out free food you are erasing their fear of you. Sounds great, who wouldn't want a pet fox, right? Try the guy down the road, maybe according to him foxes carry rabies and should all be shot....now he keeps seeing these three acting very un-fox like wandering around his back yard. What do you think his solution will be?
We knew some people that did this with a black bear in their yard one summer. It was shot that fall by a guy who panicked when he saw that bear out in his garbage cans. The people had gone out of town and the bear, desperate for handouts and not finding any in his usual place, went and started getting into other peoples houses and yards.
Yes a bear is bigger and more destructive, but all wild animals are going to react the same way. So if you really like those foxes....leave them alone and please, please don't feed them.

It's best not to feed a wild animal like that. Foxes will end up going through your garbage and eating pets- yours or neighbors.

The best thing to do is leave them alone. If they continue to show up in your yard, call around the nearby natural parks and see if anyone is interested in helping you before you call animal control. Animal control should remove problem animals for you.

Foxes are wild animals! They may look cute, but they bite and could have rabies or many other diseases.

You don't want to feed the foxes anyhing. Even if they have already started to become dependent on humans for food you don't want to encourage this behavior. The only way a fox wouldn't be afraid of humans is if they have been raised by or have had a lot of contact with humans (as pets, in a sanctuary, zoo, rehabilitation center, being fed by humans, etc.).

Try dog food...but be careful!!! I just read about two people getting attacked by a rabid fox. Strange, you are the fourth person this week having a 'fox' experience. I saw one outside my office the other day just looking at me.

Don't feed them -

Any wild animal that comes that close to man may have rabies. Feeding them will only keep them around.

They're partial to squirrels. Leave lots of raw peanuts around. The squirrels will get fat and the foxes will feed themselves. :)

PLEASE DON'T INTEACT WITH WILDLIFE! Foxes are a rabies vector species, they could definitely be carriers, not to mention numerous other diseases. It is not beneficial for you or the animals to provide them with food and encourage them to remain around people's houses. I advise you to call your state's fish and wildlife agency for further advice.
