Open windows media player, click on the Tools on the top left tool bar, choose options, Click on the File Types tab, click on select all, click ok. Done! OK? Good luck!

Yes, you definitely don't have to uninstall either of them.
1) Click "Start>Set program access and defaults"
2) click "custom", then scroll down to where it says "choose default media player".
3) Select Windows Media Player and then click "ok" to close the window.

its really easy
first go to a file...i mean the file which opens in quick time...dont click it yet...right click it and scroll down to properties...
a new window will open
here u will see
opens with: Quick Time
on the right side of this will be a button labeled "change"
click it and select the media player
the media player might not be listed
so you will have to enter the destination of windows media player
default is:
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe
copy it and paste it in the file name
you are done :)

A box comes up that asks if you want that program to be your player for all files and you say yes. This usually comes up when you deliberately use media player.

i looked forever for that too my suggestion would be to uninstall windows media and reinstall it, it asks if u want this to be default in set up
