The wound did not bleed, but he has a scab on it. I'm not sure he is telling us the truth. Is there any way of telling what it would look like. It does not bother him. Should he be seen by a doctor?

And no, there is really no need to see a doctor unless it's causing him serious pain or if it starts to get infected.

Small red mark where it went in. It can scab over and the BB can remain where ever it went in, but it could move around in his body and eventually cause him harm. You can take him to the doctor and get an xray which will show where the BB is and then have it removed for his health. He could also develop an infection from where it went in. If the friend did this shooting on purpose, look into criminal charges against the friend and his parents, so that they have to pay for all the medical charges being brought. If it was an accident then approach the parents and say I know this was an accident but your son accidentally shot my grandson in the leg with the BB gun. Would you be willing to look into gun safety courses for your son and help me with the medical bills that have been incurred from this accident.

If you would like to know for sure if it was a BB gun, have an x-ray done of the extremity. If in fact it was a BB gun then the BB will most probably still be in the body of unless, it has been passed.

kids eh,2kinds of bb pellets, mostly plastic, shouldnt be anything more than small bruise, dont worry, the problem is educating the child who fired at him, although being hit in the leg can hurt a bit,its enough to lose an eye!guns are safe, its the people holding them, they need to be educated, some friend! While I am sure your grandson is OK this is more luck than anything else. I would question his mate or parents. BB pellets are soft but if he was hit in the eye he could have lost his sight.

About the same as being hit really hard with the blunt end of a pencil. Reddish and perhaps slightly swollen.
