Try taking cider vinegar tablets (buy in a health food store or the health food section of a department store or supermarket). You can also take one or two teaspoonfuls of apple cider vinegar once a day and before meals. The natural acidity will help to balance the overproduction of stomach acids which have a tendency to back up into the upper digestive system and cause the burning sensation in the throat and chest, thus the term "heartburn." I took various tablets for many years, until some friends told me about the cider vinegar, and I decided to try it. I have even recommended it to some people who have had the heartburn so severely that it has affected their sleep at night and they have told me that they can actually sleep through the night now and be more relaxed and comfortable. I am trying to improve my health and not consume a lot of chemicals and chemical compounds which may not be helpful for my health in the long run. Some of the medications for the problem actually stop part of the natural digestive process; which may lead to problems worse than the heartburn. Good luck to you!

Heartburn No More by Jeff Martin

Heartburn No More has taken a little more than a decade to complete. During this period, Jeff Martin conducted detailed trials, experiments, and studies on heartburn, acid reflux, GERD, and digestive disorders.

Does Heartburn No More actually work?

Surprisingly, the steps and plans given in Heartburn No More actually work. The book has received a significantly high success rate of around 95 percent, which is more than what can be said about most other instant health remedy frauds in the market today. The treatment process given in the book has helped the author cure his condition himself, and it has done the same for several other people. The best part about the treatment given in this book is that it gives you nearly instant relief from heartburn and cures you of the disease within a very short span of time as well. However, the author is honest enough to note that the effectiveness of the treatment given in the book depends on the severity of a patient’s condition.

The effectiveness of the program outlined in the book probably comes from the author’s own personal experience with the condition and his decade-long search for a better cure. The book clearly reflects the thoroughness with which Jeff Martin has done his research. It provides extremely detailed information on heartburn and acid reflux, the current treatment programs being used and their flaws, and the treatment outlined by the author and its detailed working.

Bottom Line

It is clearly a book that backs up its claims with a very powerful treatment program. It also sheds light on the different treatment methods being used today. Nevertheless, you should remember that the effectiveness of the program is dependent on you alone. Heartburn No More is an investment in terms of time, money, and effort, and you should make the investment if you are ready to change your life completely.

The best treatment for heartburn is prevention. Heartburn is caused by unintentional dehydration. The stomach produces hydrochloric acid to break down and process the food. There is supposed to be a mucus coating on the stomach to protect from this acid. But when not enough water is available, the mucus lining breaks down and the acid gets through, causing the burning sensation. What people need to do is to drink 16 oz of water and dissolve a pinch (1/8) tsp of salt on their tongue 30 minutes before eating to allow the stomach time to absorb the water/salt and then secrete it back out as a bicarbonate solution at the proper time to protect the stomach. This water/salt mix needs to be done a second time 2 - 2 1/2 hours after eating to complete the digestion process.

One thing you might want to try, which sounds like the very last thing someone with heartburn would want to do, is take enzymes. The very reason so many people suffer from peptic ulcers, GERD and other upper gastrointestinal issues is a direct result of our food not containing the enzymes necessary for digestion. The lack of enzymes cause our pancreas to pump out even more endogenous enzymes, which are quite caustic to the stomach lining. Taking digestive enzymes prior to eating and just before bed have been very beneficial for people who have tried all the conventional medications their doctors prescribe..only leaving their bodies dependent on them because they never learn to produce the right amount of enzymes and maintain balance. Garden of Life makes three different kinds of enzymes...you can start on their website and go from there. Having had a husband who suffered such as you and has been heart burn free for many months now after taking these same enzymes. I wish you success!

Hello.

I'm not a medical professional like the nurse below, but I too would recommend taking digestive enzymes. I used to get heartburn all the time until I started taking a digestive enzyme every time I ate. It turns out I wasn't digesting properly, and the enzymes helped to completely break down my food.

I'd recommend checking out www.wellzymes.com, they have great products and they are 100% vegetarian (some enzyme supplements are made from the organs of slaughterhouse animals - yuk!). The product "Digestive Health" is a great overall digestive enzyme, and "Gastric Ease" is heartburn specific - it has the digestive enzymes (without the protease as it can aggravate an ulcer or similar GI condition) with herbal extracts like marshmallow root extract and aloe extract to soothe the GI lining.

I'd advise you to stay far away from antacids and other prescription and OTC meds - I think they can actually make it worse. But like I said earlier - I'm not a doctor...

Try digestive enzymes, they worked for me. Hope this helps!

Why don't you try carafate tab (sucralfate) I find it very effective with heart burn and if you have gastric ulcer it will help it to heal. Avoid eating/drinking acidic food, soda.

I think you need to change doctors immediately. Signs of heartburn could be GERD. Also, signs of heartburn on the more serious side could lead to heart attack. Please see a specialist and get yourself better. Find the REASON why you are having the symptoms.
