One of mine is the boys of the summer.
I love the movement of the music.
Makes me want to take a long fast drive.

Nobody on the road
nobody on the beach.
I feel it in the air
the summer's out of reach.
Empty lake
empty streets
the sun goes down alone.
I'm drivin' by your house
Though I know you're not home.

I can see you
Your brown skin shinin in the sun
You got your hair combed back
and your sunglasses on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you
will still be strong
after the boys of
summer have gone

I never will forget those nights
I wonder if it was a dream.
Remember how you made me crazy?
Remember how I made you scream?
Now I don't understand
what happened to our love,
But baby when i get you back
I'm gonna show you what I'm made of

I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
I see you walkin' real slow
and you're smilin' at everyone
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
after the boys of
summer have gone

Out on the road today
I saw a black flag sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice inside my head said,
"Don't look back.
You can never look back."
I thought I knew what love was,
What did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but,

I can see you
Your brown skin shinin in the sun
You got that top pulled down
and that radio on baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
after the boys of
summer have gone

I can see you
Your brown skin shinin in the sun
You got that hair slicked back and
those Wayfarers on, baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
after the boys of
summer have gone

I like "Boys of Summer" also and remember hearing Don Henley say on a radio interview show that one of the band members from Tommy Petty and the Heartbreakers (not Tom Petty though) came up with that unique, haunting, mesmerizing sound.

My favorite though, is "Blue Collar Man" by Styx.

Spirit In The Sky Lyrics
Norman Greenbaum

Norman Greenbaum---Spirit In The Sky

When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best
When I lay me down to die
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best

Prepare yourself you know it's a must
Gotta have a friend in Jesus
So you know that when you die
He's gonna recommend you
To the spirit in the sky
Gonna recommend you
To the spirit in the sky
That's where you're gonna go when you die
When you die and they lay you to rest
You're gonna go to the place that's the best

Never been a sinner I never sinned
I got a friend in Jesus
So you know that when I die
He's gonna set me up with
The spirit in the sky
Oh set me up with the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
I'm gonna go to the place that's the best
Go to the place that's the best

Mine would have to be Queen's "Bohemian rhapsody"; there's so much in the five minutes and 55 seconds that makes the song.
