mmm.

Interview yourself first.

Look at the job ad and any paperwork. Make a list of all of the things that they say they want, and any things that you think they want. Then look at the CV and letter you sent in. How did you address these points? Did you leave any gaps? Make sure you know how you addressed the points so that you can say something consistent to the paperwork. For every point that you did NOT cover, figure out how you're going to cover it.

Secondly, go through your docs and make sure that the timeline is complete. There should be no gaps in your history, else they will assume you were in jail. If you have left gaps, make up your mind about how you will answer when they ask you about them

Thirdly, figure out some EVIDENCE for every assertion you have made about yourself. Did you say you were a good team player? Then wrack your brains until you can remember an incident where your teamplaying skills solved some big problem (e.g. Joe and Bill were gonna kill each other so I just figured out what the real problems were and helped them work out a compromise, etc). None of your stories should betray confidentiality or reflect negatively on anyone. All stories are positive.

Finally, make a SHORT list of questions that you are gonna ask them at the end of the interview. Stuff like, where is the company going? what are the opportunities for progression? Natural, not cheesy.

Arrive on time, well dressed, and make sure you don't have to run to get there. Take the lift. Enjoy it - this is a gig, you are the lead singer.

research the job. it's always good knowing a little before you go in. research the company. wear clean shoes and smart clothes. appearance is everything. listen and answer question fully. if you don't understand something ask. asking question is just as important as answering them but the most important thing. be yourself and go in to any interview with the thought that you are the best person for the job. good luck

It all depends on the job you're going for, but my general advice (I've had hundreds over my 25 years working life) is to try and relate what you've done in the past to the job requirements. Don't be afraid to ask questions and refer to notes either. Good luck.

Always research the company as best as you can. Think up certain scenarios that could occur while doing the job, and how would you resolve them....I always used to get asked scenario questions!

Get friends to ask you questions and practice answering them.

Finally, just stay relaxed and expect to be asked unexpected things!
