When I went to the post office. Many say these people are just going to spend it on alcohol that there drunks.....I say why do u really care how they "as adults" choose to spend ur buck or how they find a ounce of pleasure in the day to ease many's obvious long hours of lonliness and depression ....Its a wounder why so many walk with there heads down and sometimes talk to themselvs....ever wounder how they became like that or who they could of been in the past.......So much more to a person than just the obvious which we as americans love to judge......

Hmmm to end poverty heres a start let teach are children to love and feel good helping others and not to have greed and stereo-types about poor people and how they got there or there a scam and some deserve to be where there at??????

First educate then speak it seems to have more backbone to the statements made other wise it is called IGNORANCE .

I am soft-hearted person and I always try to give help to the needy including homeless but my last time giving personally a dollar to a homeless was when my dollar was thrown back to me as the homeless person yelled what could he benefit out of such little amount I gave. Now I still give my share but not on a direct way.

Last time I was asked for money by a homeless person, I took them to McDonalds, bought em a meal, gave em a 20, and then directed them to a decent homeless shelter. This was maybe 4 or 5 weeks ago.

I gave a dollar to a one-legged homeless man in a wheelchair near the freeway exit ramp last week. It was all I had that day. Our city council just passed an ordinance this week that it is a misdemeanor to feed homeless people in city parks. This won't change much. Just anger a lot of compassionate people. It won't produce jobs, homes, or cleanliness for those who do not have access to them...

Just yesterday I left $1.00 in a place someone would find it, on the street. I got it from my new little book-Instant Karma. Well, I had 3 wonderful things happen to me yesterday. So, last night I did it again-this time 5 !$ bills. Everyone loves to find money, and doing it without knowing who will get it so kind of cool. It's supposed to be an act of goodness, to make you feel happy.

It's been about 10 years and that was when I was in Washington DC. We don't have vagrant homeless people on the streets here. It's too cold for them. (Northern Michigan).

A couple months ago, I was in Chicago and a guy holding a sign that said, I need money for booze. I liked his honesty so I gave the guy twenty bucks.
