Delete without reading. It's juvenile childish stuff and some may even be passing viruses

I sometimes pass them on (depends on the mail and my mood). I don't, of course, believe in the 'promises' ("Send this to 5 people and you will have good luck - if you don't do this in 10 seconds you will die" ... Yeah ... Right!).
When I do decide to forward something, however, I DON'T just forward it with all the old addresses and the other crap. I figure my friends deserve better than that from me!
First, I hit Forward. Next I edit the mail, deleting all the addresses above and all the "This mail was checked by Naughton Antivirus version 666.666.001" ... yes, ALL of it! It only takes a few seconds out of the 10 I have!
Next I address it to all@friends.com. Friends.com has a very long-suffering server which always sends me a message back saying that it is not a mail server - that's fine by me :)
That is ALL I put in the To: field ... note ONE FALSE ADDRESS - no real ones!!
Now I go to the BCC: field (NOT the CC: field!!) and I put in all the people I want it to go to.
When one of those people receives the mail, they see ONLY my address (in the From: field) and their own (and, of course the spurious 'all@friends.com'). They do not see ANY of the other recipients - it's just not relevant.
Now, if they are not as assiduous as me and just forward it, only my name and theirs will appear on the forward. I shall still be open to 'mail-harvesters' where ever that mail gets to but the other people whose names I deleted will not be - from that mail, anyway.

Well I don't believe in the superstition thing. Most chain letters I think are dumb, especially if they say "send this to 15 people and see what happens". Though sometimes if they have meaning, something like "friends are forever, if you think of the person who sent this to you as friend, send it back", then they are ok.

Like the old fashioned chain letters, discard them.
There's enough rubbish flying into our e-mail boxes as it is! Chain e-mails just add to the clutter and really are a waste of time.

that is a scam that has been happening for years. you should be sure Yahoo is easily-known with. they're sending notices to those who have not used their account for over a year that it will be closed if no longer accessed. because the individuals it refers to do not get admission to Yahoo mail they received't see the e-mail besides. The notices do no longer have a link to click. they only say signal in. ? ?

Despise them. They last forever and keep recurring. As bad as spam. In a work context they fill up mail servers.
Also they can be used to hide viruses.

I've never replied to them, what does happen when you send them? am curious, but not curious enough to be bothered to send them. What is the point anyway? What do people get out of them? Anyway I've winged enough, so I'll leave it there!

they are a bloody nuisance
I sometimes read them and then delete them.
Why waste all that memory space on them???
And this send them on to 5 people and have good luck or have your wish come true is all mumbo jumbo to me.
