My friend is a little bit girl shy and normally this wouldn't worry me but lately he's been a bit secluded, how can I talk to him to get him out of the house and to be a little less shy, I don't want to push him to hard into anything hes not comfortable with. It's also due in part by his parent's over protectiveness. Can anyone help?

talk to his parents, ask if they could let you and the other guys take him out to the movies or something, "guy's night for fun". sometimes a hard push is all a friend needs to loosen up. as for girls, in my opinion, shy guys are real. girls don't like trhe overconfident jerk type either.

hope this helps.

Best thing to do is get together in a group. You can have several females come over and hang out with you guys, or you can all meet at the Starbuck's or whatever. Just don't push him to go and ask her out. It would be a disaster for everyone, especially your friend.
Just help him get used to being around people and girls specifically. He will come around eventually.
