It seems to be the nature of women to compete for the attentions of men, and in doing so, no holds are barred for there "fellow" competitors...even their best friends!
Men do not seem to compete with eachother for many things, and when they do, it is very direct, usually open. I was taught long ago, by my mother, that no woman can fully trust another woman...sad, but in my experience, I have seen this time and time again.

In my experience, women are very competitive. Men are too, but usually in business and sports. Women tend to be competitive about men. Women generally seem to to suffer from "the grass is always greener on the side: syndrome too. No matter what they have at home, they're always looking at their friends' men.

Until they learn how to stick together and work together, we will never see a female in the top level of elected government.

I wish I knew. I've heard it blamed on the fact that we don't get that team-player attitude from playing sports as much as men do, but that has certainly changed drastically in the last couple of decades, so why haven't we changed?

I'm constantly saying that we should give each other a helping hand up the corporate ladder instead of stepping on each other. However, I've this idea backfire too. I would try to pitch in and be a team-player when I'd finished my own work and try to help someone else with their's. My co-worker took exception to this and assumed I was just trying to make her look bad in front of our boss!

I guess we just have to keep doing whatever we can and help those who want to be helped and those who aren't mature enough to accept it will just have to keep bumping their heads on that glass ceiling until they get the message.

Aren't you generalizing a bit? Using the word "always", always causes a warning when making a statement or asking a question such as this.

I've often wondered that too. I agree that most (not all) are desperate for the attention of men. Sad indictment of my gender.
