Easy, when you decide to teach you are taking on the responsibility of molding and crafting the future. Children will inevitably grow into the leaders and scholars of tomorrow. So teachers have the ability to le3ave there mark and influence on today and tomorrow.
But this doesn't mean that teaching is easy. Differences in students and stringent guidelines make each day a challenge for any teacher.
But to say that it is the noblest profession could be a debate. Any one who contributes to public welfare and advancement, (fireman, policeman, solider, etc) could also be lumped into the same category.
These professions are selfless, they deal more with the betterment of everyone else, than the advancement of self.

I thought that was prostitution? Ohhhh, the NOBLEST profession...
Probably because to teach is to impart to the next generation as much intelligence as possible and thereby reinforce the cultural norms and values of the society in which you live.

Dates back to the age of philosophers. They passed the knowledge on to other generations. Today its the noblest because we work for next-to-nothing, try to teach under stressful conditions, need to play the role of both parents since the kids come to us with never being told "no", Are in danger of being attacked at any time, and need to be police to keep lookout for those coming in high or drunk or armed.

That perception is cultural. In the Eastern culture, teaching is well-respected. In the US culture, teaching is less respected. Students in the US are less motivated and less disciplined. Many do not even respect their own parents, so they certainly do not respect their teachers. So where is the nobility in that?
Even US adults don't always respect the teachers, which is why there is the perpetual saying "If you can, do. If you can't, teach. If you can't teach, administrate." So where is the nobility in that?
To answer your question, teaching nobility depends on the culture.

Teaching is a noble profession, but you couldn't say that it is more noble than being a scientist or a doctor. Any kind of productive work is noble, for that matter.

Because we're not born knowing things. We ALL have to learn, and teachers are the ones who help us learn. So they contribute to society by helping students gain knowledge and improve themselves, which ultimately leads to innovations in all aspects of daily life and society.
