the grass isnt even green when you do look at it. but to answer your question.

your really asking if reality depends on our minds for its existence.

the color green is mind dependent, so when we dont perceive it, it doesn't exist.

Nothing is anything until YOU decide it is. Atoms aren't objects, they are simply tendencies. The observer restricts and defines the superposition of possibilities when viewing a situation, object, or even a memory. The formation of rules within the self can limit or expand these possibilities. Somewhere in the illusion of time, we all agreed that grass would be green, that plant matter would be green, and the fact that we agree is what controls the possibility. With enough meditation, grass will be whatever color you need it to be, based on how much work you want to put into it, since there are a LOT of observers agreeing on this topic of color.

You may find deeper success changing other ideas...

The grass contains chlorophyll which reflects all the colors of light except for green which it absorbs and causes the grass to become color green even when nobody looks at it.

I don't know about that....all the grass I see is brown. Oh wait, there's a green blade! Nevermind, it was just some litter. Yeah, it's all brown.
