Well the UNO does have value!
It is now the last place where prima facie you have to put on a mask of goodness and say "I am a good nation".
If there were no UN, then nations will not even try to appear decent. Have no fear of being called "bad".
Then there will be no peer-pressure and everything will be jungle-rule.
So it does serve a purpose....at least now a rouge nation has to go and stand up before the world community and say lies. Be open to be called a 'liar' by the world. At least the fear of world- ridicule is there.

The UN is a waste of time. I very seriously doubt that the tin-pot dictators are afraid of the paper cuts they might get from the UN being mad at them. They make empty threats and criticize those that enforce them after years of all the resolutions being ignored by their targets. They "impose sanctions" and then profit from them (like the oil for food program)
In short the UN should be disbanded and kicked out of my country.

In the current situation of Israel-Lebenaon and in Iraq-USA war, I would say NO. USA should start a night club & bar at UN building, and Kofi Anan should be a strip dancer in that bar. Atleast, enjoyment is better than wasting time in speeches and condemning

yes, it provides a forum for countries to talk to eachother. Before the UN, countrries might both have misconceptions and end up in a war. that almost never happens now, now it takes something nefarious.

it used to promote peace - at least that was their mission - but now it has dissolved into the world of corruption and weakness:
UN = Un-united Nations
